Auger bits allow you to drill high-precision holes of various sizes. Ground engaging tools: Various ground engagement tools maximize attachment and machine performance in specific applications.Attaching one to your mini excavator allows you to prepare surfaces when paving driveways, sidewalks and parking lots or handle asphalt repair jobs. Vibratory plate compactors: These attachments compact everything from granular soil and gravel to hot asphalt mixes and small aggregate material.Operators can control the thumb’s function from the cab and fold it against the stick of the machine when it’s not in use. ![]() Thumbs: A thumb works in tandem with an excavator bucket to help it grab, sort, or pick various materials. They allow your mini excavator to grasp, break off, and reduce the size of metal objects in a junkyard or recycling facility. Shears: Hydraulic shears are the ideal attachment for scrap and demolition applications.A ripper attachment cuts through densely packed dirt, loose and rocky soil, and other challenging ground conditions. Different types of excavator buckets include general-purpose models and are equipped with teeth for efficient groundbreaking and digging. Buckets: A bucket allows a mini excavator to perform many earthmoving tasks. There are a variety of work tool attachments that function flawlessly with Cat® mini excavator models: Different Types of Mini Excavator Attachments Using one piece of equipment to perform several tasks saves time, increases productivity at the job site, and can help reduce your company’s operating costs. They’re compatible with a wide variety of work tool attachments, which enables operators to transform them into multifunctional machines. Versatility is another defining characteristic of a mini excavator. They’re ideal for jobs such as installing backyard swimming pools and hot tubs, repairing sewer lines, landscaping work, and digging small holes and trenches. Their relatively small size (operating weights range from 2,000 to 20,000 pounds) enables them to perform digging and loading tasks in confined areas off-limits to larger, heavier models. Excavators are much more friendly, using bushings.Mini excavators are one of the most agile and maneuverable construction and earthmoving machines. When they wear, you have to machine them for a slightly bigger pin, or remove material or whatever. Most of the tractor/loaders don't have bushings, just pin on steel. Anyway the pin goes through the bucket, and is supposed to keep the pin from rotating inside the bucket pin holes, which reduces or eliminates wear in the pin holes on the bucket side, and placing the wear on the stick's bushings (which are replaceable). The bushings are in the stick, normally have to beat them out-takes some force, kinda pressed in.Ġ40's have a bolt holding the pin don't they? I forget.the last few I did were KX080's, which had about a 5/8" dia spring pin, aka "roll pin".pain in the neck. Grease the fittings OFTEN and grease the snot out of it. Those o-rings keep the grease in and help reduce the amount of dirt/water/etc that get into the pin/bushing area. They still wear, just not nearly as quickly as they would if the washers are not shimmed pretty tight and the o-rings gone (which is very common). This also helps keep the pin from wearing, as well as the bushings. When they get loose you can pop the pin out and toss another shim in there to get you by for a while. You can put more than one washer in there to take up the slack, that's what they are for. Between the bucket and the stick are two thrust washers.
